The short version

Choose thanks.io if you want the warmth of handwritten-style notes (thank-yous, follow-ups, farming postcards) sent a few at a time with zero commitment. Choose StampSherpa if you want professionally designed brand campaigns, neighborhood saturation, and per-campaign response tracking on a flat monthly plan.

What thanks.io is

thanks.io (around since 2017) sends postcards, letters, and notecards rendered in handwriting-style fonts. As of July 2026 its published pricing: pay-as-you-go with no subscription (4 by 6 postcards $1.18), a $49 per month Business tier (postcards $0.77), and a $199 per month Professional tier ($0.64, with design services and a success manager). No minimums ever, QR codes with scan webhooks, Zapier integrations, a radius-search tool at 5 cents per address, and pay-per-use data lookups. It is a genuinely flexible little machine, and the handwritten aesthetic is the product.

What StampSherpa is

StampSherpa sends designed mail: real brand postcards generated from your website (six fresh designs monthly), mailed to a neighborhood you circle on a map (jumbo EDDM cards) or a list you upload, at flat all-inclusive prices ($199 / $349 / $549 per month). Every card prints a per-campaign scannable code, and the dashboard charts responses per send with rates shown only past 25 cards. The design language is print design, not handwriting: cards that look like a brand invested in them.

Common questions

Is thanks.io cheaper than StampSherpa?
For small batches, yes: no subscription and $1.18 per 4x6 card pay-as-you-go, dropping to $0.64 on the $199 tier. StampSherpa's $199 covers 100 designed and tracked cards monthly. Note-by-note flexibility: thanks.io. A monthly campaign machine: StampSherpa.
Does thanks.io do EDDM?
No true EDDM; they offer a radius address search (5 cents per address) to build lists nearby. StampSherpa's Neighborhood plan is actual USPS saturation to full carrier routes with oversized cards.
Which look performs better?
It depends on the job. Handwritten-style feels personal for one-to-one follow-ups. For acquisition campaigns, a designed card with a clear offer and a scannable code is the measurable play; see our response-rate guide for what actually moves response.
